A Writer Tshirt Giving a writer a fun writer Tshirt that can be proudly worn is a great way to show your support his or hers writing. It gives them the opportunity to show the world what they do with a bit of humor. If youre not sure what to give as a gift to a writer, this is a great default. A journal (maybe more than one) A journal is a place where you can do your free writing, or where you can work through problems that are impacting your work. They can also be places to keep ideas and experiment with forms like poetry or lyric writing. You can have one journal for everything, or get a few and dedicate them to different types of writing. Whiteboard (maybe more than one) I tend to be forgetful and I tend to come up with good ideas when a pen and paper or my laptop arent available. Bad combination. To help, I got a couple of small whiteboards and put one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. Now when I get a great idea in the shower or while making dinner, I can jot it down on the board. These are more water and damage resistant than electronics or paper and are great for messy environments. Calendar Whether you go digital or get a wall calendar or weekly planner, a calendar is a must to keep track of deadlines and to-dos, Spreadsheet software Good spreadsheet software can come in handy for creating submission trackers and expense/income spreadsheets. File cabinet and files No matter how digital you try to be you will always have paper to file. It keeps drifting in even when you actively try to avoid it. At the least youll probably need a file drawer in your desk or an accordion file. At worst, youll need a full blown file cabinet or some bankers boxes. Unions act to protect the interests of teachers at any cost, even at the expense of students. Unions often work to minimize teacher accountability, protect low-quality teachers, and support the unsustainable expansion of retirement and health benefits. Labor unions once played a crucial role in ensuring fairness in the workplace. Unions were initially formed to protect workers against brutal employers who abused laborers, refused adequate breaks and time off, and did not ensure safe working conditions. Labor unions were never really intended for government workers or employees. For the most part, private labor union membership continues to fall as right-to-work reforms grow in strength in many states. When it comes to public sector unions, and specifically teachers unions, conservatives favor putting students needs first once again and ending the union-dominated culture that has prevented educational reforms in public education. As American students continue to lag in key areas and drop-out rates in major cities remain at unacceptable levels, it’s clear that the policies of the past have failed. Teachers have long enjoyed being portrayed as overworked and underpaid public servants who only go into the teaching field â€Å"for the children.† While that may have once been very true, union dominance has changed the this and, perhaps, the chief motivation for entering the profession. In general, conservatives would support a bottom-up approach, and these standards would be local and statewide based. While this was untrue, continuing the myth of the abused, underpaid public school teacher is of utmost importance. Hiding behind children is an unique advantage teachers have over other â€Å"public servants† like DMV processors or meter maids. (Imagine the amount of sympathy the drivers license clerk would get over a strike about increasing pay and benefits).​ With an average salary of $76,000, the typical Chicago teacher makes more money than roughly 3/4 of the country. But teachers are special. They work with children. This supposedly makes teachers free from criticism. Research shows that the last few years of this century are not the worst hit by the economi c recession as compared to the early 1980s (Leonhardt, 2009). However, despite this, Gardner aims at showing the world that the poor do not need an army to fight poverty. All that a person needs are proper shoes as shown in several scenes and a positive attitude regardless of the problems at hand. As a viewer, it is also critical to note that Will Smith, who is Chris Gardner in the film, does an exceptional job at convincing viewers of the struggles that people face just to survive. There are not so many films that portray how people struggle financially and in relationships so convincingly. I believe that the film drives the point home allowing viewers to make note of its logos of the logic contained in its interesting display of characters’ behavior. Though Smith is only acting, this is a message that reminds all those who have the resources particularly the middle-income families that all this can go away.

The most remarkable of the efforts by the Indian army was in Mesopotamia where nearly 700,000 soldiers served against the Ottoman Empire. Thanksgiving, Easter, Ramadan, Eid al Fitr, Eid al Adha and Christmas are celebrations that should be known worldwide; and for the most part they are. In the United States and Canada they honour Thanksgiving, also most westren countries have Easter and Christmas holidays; the Orient celebrate with some of these holidays. However, come Ramadan or Eid, and only the immediate Islamic based countries, like the Middle East and the South-Asian countries, know the details of the holiday. Abu Dhabi is an example of a multi-tradition and multi-cultural city. Every year, Ramadan is noticed and felt all over the city, even its peripheries. Usually, both Eids are just as important as Ramadan is. Nonetheless, this year, because Christmas and Eid al Adha are so close to each other, the shopping malls, hotels and other retail outlets are decorated with the spirit of Christmas and not the joy of Eid al Adha. The controversy is that this is an Islamic country, yet the atmosphere feels very occidental. There are Islamic countries that allow a one-day or two-day holiday scheme for Christmas, whereas Western countries don’t instigate the notion of respecting the religion of others in their society. This demonstrates the respect Islamic based governments have towards their inhabitants, what does it say about the Occident? The Islamic goverments does no justice to the foundation of its roots. It is quite disappointing when the nation’s leaders are not intervening and stating that Eid is as important as Christmas; maybe even more so! This is a country whose laws and government regulations are born from the Quran itself. True, Jesus’ (As) birth is a belief amongst Muslims, but so is the sacrificial symbol of the Adha a belief amongst the Christians and other religions in the world. Why can’t all cultures adopt the Islamic tradition of gifting children with new clothes and taking them out to restaurants and amusement parks? The government does not encourage Eid as much as it allows public places to be enveloped in Christmas decorations. In France, the Arab communities hold visitations and share in Islamic customs within their brotherhood, whilst around them Christmas carols are sung and the city is embellished in tinsel and goblins, awaiting the arrival of â€Å"Santa Claus†, or in their terms â€Å"Pere Noel. In Dubai, much like Abu Dhabi, hotels and restaurants have special Christmas luncheons. Shops and Malls give away special offers during the ‘Festive Season’. There is yet to be established an Eid theme blanketing the cities where Islam is the religion of base, like that of Christmas. What is even more upsetting is that Christmas is in itself less religious and more commercial than it was 500 years ago. Christmas has a face, a fi gure one can imagine when thinking of the Holiday: a jolly man, with a red suit and a white beard. He did not always look like this. â€Å"Santa Claus† acquired his red suit and the big belly through a Coca Cola advertisement in 1931. His image changed, distorted almost, into what we know now as â€Å"Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas! † by many cartoonists. â€Å"Through the centuries, Santa Claus has been depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to an elf. He has worn a bishops robe and a Norse huntsmans animal skin. The modern-day Santa Claus is a combination of a number of the stories from a variety of countries†*. (Coca-cola. om) Children stop believing in him at a very early age, whereas before, they would reach the age of maturity and only then learn that â€Å"Santa Claus† is a spirit of St. Nicholas. Eid al Adha, was, is and always will be the same. The story never changes. The facts are facts, not subject to individual interpretation. Families pass on the same heritage that remains untouched, untainted, unpenetrated by social reform. In conclusi on, I strongly believe that the injustice the Islamic governors does, the discrimination between religions should be educated to a halt. Eid al Adha is my upbringing. Within my family, an uncle has a Christian wife, their house is always decorated with Christmas twinkles during the season; this year, they waited with the decorations until after Eid al Adha. As a Muslim in an Islamic society, I have been brought up to respect all religions and beliefs by our Islamic governments; so why now can’t the Islamic governments respect their religion that they take oath to respect, protect, and maintain it?

Question: Discuss about the Law of Commercial Association for Economic. Answer: Introduction: Copyright is a set of rights that are economic in nature and give the owner a right that is exclusive for doing things with respect to the object that it is protecting. It is automatically upon the creation that Copyright protection is achieved; it does not require registration of the work in any register officially.[1] The ownership of the copyright can be decided either by way of agreement (13.170 copyright dealings). Other than that Copyright Act sets out general rules that would be applicable.[2] These general rules are: The owner of the copyright shall be creator; In the case of there being more than one creator and it is not possible for separating the contribution of one person from the contribution made by other people then, in that case, the copy right shall be deemed to be owned jointly by all the authors. Thus, as stated under the act though the general rule is the author of the copyright (who is the person who has created or produced the work) work is the first owner of copyright work that has been created. In the case where authors are two or more than two who have contributed towards the work creation then in that scenario as per the general rule, it would be a work of joint authorship.[3] It is not required to register the copyright in the name of all the authors, simple contribution towards the creation of work is sufficient to ascertain the ownership over the work.[4] The Act defines join ownership work as a work which has been produced through the collaboration between more than one author and in which the contribution of one of the authors cannot be separated from the contribution made by the other Authors. It is required that there should be some kind of collaboration between these authors for meeting of this requirement. In the given case Sam, Sally and Jack had contributed towards the making of the game and thus all three of them are the joint authors of the copyright for the game created (Copyright law in Australia, 2005). In Australia, one of copy right protection's essential requirement is that the authored work should be by a person who is qualified meaning a person who is residing in Australia or who is an Australian citizen. In the recent battle in the case of Telstra's[5] with respect to the directories of the White and Yellow Pages, the court had opined that with respect to directories there could not be a copyright. All the joint authors could not be identified by Telstra and as the Court summed up that in a work for copyright to subsist this is essential. Though it is arguable whether an over-emphasis had been placed by the Court in the given case and whether there was a need for identifying the each and every author however the courts emphasis is a good law and from the copyright works creators it would be encouraged as being the best practice (DEMPSEY, 1995). Though there were some people, who had been identified by Telstra as being the Authors, however, the requisite level of collaboration could not be demonstrated by them for being able to produce a work that was of joint authorship among these authors.[6] While contributing towards the same work of directories, the performance of their functions were oblivious of and separate from each other. In the case of Primary Health Care[7] as well this issue had been echoed where an attempt was being made by them for copyrighting the ownership of records of the patients. It was held by the court that the patient record that PHC owned could not be given the protection of copyright as being a joint authorship work since each individual record was an enter made individually with respect to a certain patient and this entry that was made was independent and not through collaboration. Thus in the case of Jack, Sally and Sam keeping in purview the above mentioned two cases (i) it can established who are the owners of the work that has been given copyright protection as there are not number of individuals that have been involved in the development of the game but only three people who were involved in the development and (ii) the entire work was by way of collaboration and each individuals work cannot be separated from the other thus the protection of joint ownership through copyright is available to Jack for the game that has been produced. Thus as already been stated the general rules of the Act provides that the joint ownership of copyright arises when the contribution is made by the parties jointly towards the intellectual property creation, and thus they become joint inventors, joint creators or joint authors. The law in this will provide for three questions of critical importance a default position (Business.qld.gov.au, 2016): Sr. No. Question Default Position 1. Does the copyright's joint owner have the right of exploiting i.e. reproducing or copying the copyrighted work without the assent from the other joint authors of the work and without accounting such joint authors for any profit that has been made from such exploitation? No 2. Can the interest of a joint author of a copyright be assigned to it in the copyright without the other joint authors consent? No 3. Can the exclusive license of the copyrighted work be granted by the joint author without there being consent from the other joint authors? No The result of this is that the economic benefits from the copy right cannot be accrued by neither of the joint authors without there being a common consensus between all of them for doing the same together. This helps in fair operation as it ensures that the joint owners are together benefitted from the copyrighted work. The trigger for joint ownership is joint authorship in the case where an agreement has not been put in place for joint ownership. Thus, in this case, there is a joint authorship that exists as already established this leads to the situation of default legal position that without the consent of Jack Sam and Sally cannot accrue profit from the game and also without his consent they cannot make grant the license of the work to a third party. Thus economic benefits that are accrued from the game cannot be enjoyed only by two of the authors even Jack has to be given an account of the profit. Thus the result of joint ownership of a copy right is that the economic benefits cannot be realised from the copyright unless it is for all the three joint authors that are Sally, Sam and Jack. The joint authorships implications are that the ownership is taken by the author as a tenant in common (Acorn Computers Ltd v MCS Microcomputer Systems Pty Ltd (1984) 57 ALR 389) and authority is there which suggests that without the permission of the other co-owner the copyrighted work cannot be used by one owner for availing economic benefits. Further, each of the joint owners has the title to sue each other. In the case of where a work was adapted by a Composer and he was claiming royalties for it. (1988) 118 CLR 618, the High Court stated that there were two essential questions:[9] Whether a prima facie had been made out by the plaintiff meaning thereby that if the evidence that had been presented do not change then there will be an entitlement of relief to the plaintiff. Whether the injury or inconvenience that would be suffered by plaintiff if the injunction is not granted would outweigh the injury or inconvenience that would be suffered by the defendant if the same is granted.
